Happy Second Birthday to MaMenu!!!

We launched August 1st, 2016, and you would think that after two years worth of menus, we'd have seen it all.........!!!

Chocolate Martini

1.5 parts vodka

1 part chocolate

1 part almond milk

Ice

Mix with ice, garnish with a piece of chocolate

Healing Challah or Turmeric, sumac, cayenne challah​

Turmeric for the anti-inflammatory benefits. sumac for lowering cholesterol, and cayenne for digestion and pain relief!

the potential health benefits of such spices as turmeric (which has properties), sumac (which may help lower cholesterol), cinnamon (which may help lower blood sugar) and cayenne (which aids digestion and may provide pain relief).

1 tbsp turmeric, 1 tbsp sumac, 1 tsp cayenne into Challah dough.

White bean dip with onion confit

Blend 2 cans cannellini beans, 2 garlic cloves, 2 tsp. cumin, 2 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp olive oil salt and pepper. Blend well.

confit: In a saucepan, add 2 chopped onion, 10 garlic cloves, chopped rosemary and crushed red pepper. Cover with olive oil and let simmer for 30 minutes.

Add confit to the bean mixture (using a minimal amount of the confit oil, and reserve that for another use. The oil is deliciously flavored and can be used on salad or roasted vegetables.)

It's a white flesh fish with a tomato fennel sauce.

Celery Radish Salad

Salad:

Sliced celery

Sliced radishes

Sliced red onion

Grapes

Parlsey- fresh and chopped

Mint - fresh and chopped

Sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, poppy seeds

Dressing: olive oil, lemon juice, salt, sumac

Cauliflower Tabbouleh

Combine: 1 bag riced cauliflower, 1 chopped pickled red onion, lots of chopped parsley and mint, chopped tomato, chopped cucumber, dressed with lots of lemon juice, olive oil and salt.

Stays well overnight in the fridge, and can be re-served for lunch.

Beef Bacon Wrapped Chicken

Make spice rub of chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Dip each piece of chicken into the spice rub, and wrap with the beef bacon, and put it in a pan. Sprinkle the tops with brown sugar.

Bake for approx 30 minutes, but really depends on the chicken size.

Broil the last 2 minutes for extra color.


Grilled Indian Eggplants topped with fresh salsa

Indian eggplants are baby eggplants, that are totally adorable.

Cut the Indian eggplants in half, sprinkle with salt to draw out the moisture, and wipe dry with paper towel.

Brush with olive oil, and grill on both sides for 3-5 minutes, until soft. Don't undercook :)

Salsa: Chopped tomato, scallions and onion, lime juice, salt and pepper.

Top each eggplant with salsa.

Magic Shell Ice Cream in a waffle cone

3 steps: 1. Vanilla Ice Cream 2. Magic Chocolate Shell 3. Garnish

1> trader Joe's 🍦

2> melt in microwave or double boiler: 2 cups chocolate chips 1/2 cup coconut oil 1 tbsp corn syrup (optional)

Whisk until it all comes together smoothly, and then when you pour it over the cold ice cream, it solidifies to an incredible shell.

3> strawberries Granola Or anything!!!!
